Summary
his workshop will introduce participants to the fundamental planning and design principles that inform sustainable communities in a variety of contexts: cities, regions, neighborhoods, districts, and rural areas.
Through such emerging frameworks as Civic Ecology and EcoDistricts participants will explore "hardware" (physical fabric and infrastructure) and "software" (community resource systems) approaches to making positive community change.
Hands on exercises will provide opportunities to apply the lessons learned to real-world problems.
