Focus: Greenbuild 2012

The marathon of receptions, presentations and handshakes from Greenbuild 2012 has come and gone, but San Francisco made a lasting impression on the now-venerable annual event.

Rick Fedrizzi, President & CEO of the U.S. Green Building Council, captured the experience in these words moments before delivering his Greenbuild keynote: "What truly excites me ... after so many years, so many dreams, many of them broken, so many meetings, so many missed connections and late night flights, so many speeches, so much pain, so much heartbreak, and so many small but significant victories, is that we’re moving closer and closer to mainstream thought; closer and closer to the hearts and minds of not just the zealots and the true believers, but of the kind of people who frankly couldn’t care less about the difference between a carbon footprint, a carbon cap-and-trade and a carbon copy."

Sustainable Industries covered much of Greenbuild from the floor of Moscone Center's expo halls, capturing the following video interviews from thought-leading companies Siemens, Sloan Valve Co., CalStar Products, and Environmental Building Strategies. Special thanks to the U.S. Green Building Council's Northern California Chapter for both hosting the most impressive Greenbuild to date, and for partnering with us to promote this special video series.
