Emerge: Leadership for a more sustainable society
Two day residency in a LEED Gold retreat setting led by long time green building visionaries Kathleen O'Brien, Ann Edminster, and David Eisenberg with John Cunningham (conflict resolution expert). Emergent leadership recognizes that the transformation we need to achieve a economically vital and environmentally sound built environment requires a systems-based approach that prioritizes collaborative process and collective intelligence. It also embodies at its core servant leadership, which expands the power of leadership beyond that available through position and power. An emergent leader can lead from any chair. And emergent leadership as presented by The Emerge Leadership Project relies on the best social change science available. Presentations based on faculty experience and latest research, group discussions, nature walks, private reflection, team scenario planning, healthy meals, and yoga combine to create in the words of a recent participant and sustainability program director "a life-altering experience." Limited enrollment allows for an intimate learning environment.
Participants will earn 13 GBCI CE hours and credits towards Living Future Accreditation. Discounts for members of Cascadia Green Building Council and CSBAs. Participants will also leave with a personal leadership development plan, and the option of a complimentary mentoring session with Kathleen O'Brien to review their plan and progress.
