RATING:
Although his book has almost the exact cover design as Jones’s, Joel Makower is not a new arrival to the crowded field of sustainable business writers. Two decades ago, his book The Green Consumer identified a changing marketplace coming from buyers’ emerging values about environmentalism and personal nutritional health. But as Makower describes in his new tome, Strategies for the Green Economy, it has taken many years for green living and attitudes to go mainstream—and the revolution has turned out to come more from private-sector entrepreneurship than consumer activism or government support.
